Pentucket, Triton to address bullying, mental health issues | Local News

WEST NEWBURY — The Pentucket and Triton Regional school districts have teamed up to address bullying and mental health through a series of programs over the next couple of months.

Parents and community members from all six towns in the two districts are encouraged to attend free programs geared toward supporting the social and emotional needs of students.

Massachusetts Partnerships for Youth will host three presentations in the Pentucket Regional Middle School auditorium. The first presentation Jan. 27 will focus on bullying, followed by “Understanding and Overcoming Stress” on Feb. 6 and “Social Media’s Impact on Mental Health” on Feb. 26. All three events are from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

On March 12, community members are invited to attend “Moments of Mindfulness,” featuring a presentation and demonstrations by school staff and students in the Pentucket Regional High School cafe and auditorium. The event starts at 6:30 p.m.

The series continues March 19 with speaker and actor John Morello sharing his one-man show on bullying prevention and substance abuse, “Dirt.” The program starts at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium.

Triton will host a wellness fair in March with details to be announced.
